Recruitment of Foreign Students Studying in Tianjin University under Confucius Institute Scholarship

　　一、奖学金类别

　　I. Scholarship Category

　　一学年研修生

　　向孔子学院（课堂）优秀学员，“汉语桥”世界大、中学生中文比赛优胜者，海外本土汉语教师、大学中文专业优秀毕业生、HSK考试成绩优秀者，或有志于从事国际汉语教育的人士提供，学习专业为汉语言，入学时间为2014年秋季，资助期限为一学年。申请者HSK成绩须不低于三级180分、HSKK成绩不低于初级60分。 申请者须为非中国籍公民，身心健康，年龄在16至35周岁之间。

　　Scholarship for One-Academic Year Students

　　The scholarship is provided to outstanding students of Confucius Institutes (Classrooms), winners of the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competitions for Foreign College Students and for Foreign High School Students, overseas local Chinese language teachers, outstanding graduates of Chinese language across the world, and outstanding performers on the HSK, or those who intend to become Chinese teachers. The scholarship winner may choose to study major in Chinese Language. The time of entrance is autumn 2014 and the grant term is one academic year. Applicants should achieve a score of at least 180 on the HSK (level 3) and at least 60 on the HSKK (primary level). Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens aged between 16 and 35, and in good health.

　　向孔子学院（课堂）优秀学员，“汉语桥”世界大、中学生中文比赛优胜者，海外本土汉语教师、大学中文专业优秀学生、HSK考试成绩优秀者提供，学习专业为汉语言，入学时间为2014年秋季或2015年春季，资助期限为一学期。申请者HSK成绩须不低于二级120分、HSKK成绩不低于初级40分。申请者须为非中国籍公民，身心健康，年龄在16至35周岁之间。

　　Scholarship for One-Semester Students

　　The scholarship is provided to outstanding students of Confucius Institutes (Classrooms), winners of the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competitions for Foreign College Students and for Foreign High School Students, overseas local Chinese language teachers, outstanding graduates of Chinese language across the world, and outstanding performers on the HSK. The scholarship winner may choose to study major in Chinese Language. The time of entrance is autumn 2014 or spring 2015and the grant term is one semester. Applicants should achieve a score of at least 120 on the HSK (level 2) and at least 40 on the HSKK (elementary level). Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens aged between 16 and 35, and in good health.

　各类别奖学金优先资助具有HSK和HSKK成绩者。 “汉语桥”比赛来华复赛获奖选手按奖项规定内容办理入学申请手续。申请者若重复提交申请材料，则视为无效。

　　Applicants with HSK and HSKK scores will be given priority to all categories of scholarships. Winners of the finals of the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competitions for Foreign College Students and for Foreign High School Students in China shall arrange their applications in accordance with the prize specifications Repetitive applications are invalid.

　　二、奖学金资助范围及标准

　　II. Scholarship Coverage and Criteria

　　孔子学院奖学金资助范围包括：注册费、学费、基本教材费、一次性安置费、生活费，提供住宿、门诊医疗服务和来华留学生综合保险。其中，生活费标准是：一学年、一学期研修生为1400元/月。一次性安置费标准是发给在华学习时间满一学年（含）以上者1500元/人；发给在华学习时间为一学期者人民币1000元/人；录取前已在华学习半年以上者，不再发给一次性安置费。

　　Scholarship winners are exempt from registration fees, tuition, fees for basic learning materials, accommodation fees on campus, and are provided with a one-off resettlement subsidy, monthly allowance, outpatient medical service and comprehensive insurance for foreign students studying in China. Monthly allowances are at the following rates (CNY Yuan per month): CNY 1,400 for one-academic-year students. The one-off resettlement subsidy is CNY 1,500 for students who will study in China for one academic year or more; CNY 1,000 will be provided to all students who studies in China for one semester; the one-off resettlement subsidy will not be provided to those who have studied in China for more than half a year before being enrolled.

　　三、申请及受理

　　III. Application and Evaluation

　　1．自本办法发布之日起，申请者可登陆孔子学院奖学金网站（http://cis.chinese.cn）注册个人账号，查询我校信息，填写、提交、打印《孔子学院奖学金申请表》，并将本人签名后的申请表及其它申请材料（见第四条）一并递交推荐机构。

　　From the issue date of the application procedures, applicants can log on to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website at http://cis.chinese.cn, set up an individual account, complete the Confucius Institute Scholarship Application form online, print out the form and sign it; then submit it to one of the recommended institutes along with the other application materials (see article 4).

　　2．以下推荐机构负责受理申请材料，择优推荐符合条件的申请者。

　　The following recommended institutes will select the best applicants and recommend them to the host institutes.

　各国孔子学院； 未建孔子学院国家的有关高等学校；各驻外使（领）馆教育、文化处（组）；

　　Confucius Institutes; Related colleges and universities in countries with no Confucius Institutes established; Education and culture offices (sections) of Chinese embassies (consulates) worldwide;

　　4月20日前，各推荐机构须将奖学金申请材料寄达我校。

　　The recommended institutes are required to send the application materials to Tianjin University School of International Education by April 20st.

　　3．5月25日前，我校对申请者进行入学资格审核，并将预录取名单及个人申请表复印件提交至汉办。6月15日前，汉办组织专家进行综合评审，确定本年度孔子学院奖学金授予名单。申请者可通过推荐机构及奖学金网站查询申请进程及结果。7月1日前，我校将《录取通知书》、《报到须知》、《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》（JW202表）及其它有关奖学金生入学材料一并寄达推荐机构，由推荐机构转交申请者本人。

　　Evaluations for admission will be made by the university and the results will be submitted to Hanban along with copies of the applications by May 25th. Hanban will organize an expert panel to make the final selection by June 15th. Applicants may check the application process and their results at any time through the recommended institutes or the Confucius Institute Scholarship website. The university will send “Admission Notice”, “Enrollment Instructions”, “Visa Application Form for Foreigners to Study in China”(JW202 Form) and other related materials to the applicants through the recommended institutes by July 1th.

　　2．护照照片页复印件。

　　Photocopy of Passport Photo Page;

　　3．推荐信及承诺书。未建孔子学院国家的有关高校中文专业学生，须另附校长签发的推荐信。

　　Reference Letter and Letter of Commitment. Students attending Chinese language programs of universities in countries with no Confucius Institutes established shall attach a reference letter signed and issued by the university President;

　　4．HSK、HSKK成绩报告。

　 Photocopy of HSK and HSKK Result Report

　　5．经过公证的最高学历或在校学习证明。

　 Notarized highest education diplomas attained or proof of study

　　6．“汉语桥”世界大、中学生比赛优胜者须提供获奖证书复印件或赛区主办单位出具的获奖证明。

　　Award certificate copy of the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese proficiency competitions or related certifications issued by the organizers.

　　五、入学

　　V. Approval and Annual Appraisal

　　1．奖学金获得者须根据我校录取通知书上的规定时间按时到校报到。无故逾期未报到者，奖学金资格不予保留。

　　The scholarship winners must register at Tianjin University before the deadline set by the university. Scholarships will not be kept for those who do not register on time;

　　2．入学体检不合格者，奖学金资格将被取消。

　　Scholarships will be cancelled for those who cannot pass the physical examination;
