2026/2027 Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) Application Now Open!
2026/2027 Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) is now open for application.
The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in New Zealand (Cook Islands, Niue) welcomes applications from New Zealand, Cook Islands and Niue high school graduates and college students for scholarships to study in China.
Log onto http://www.campuschina.org to find all the information and make your online application at "Scholarship Application for Students".
Your "Program Category" is Type A,“Agency Number” is 5541.
1. Applying for CGS undergraduate, master or doctoral program
Application Closing Date: 13 February, 2026
Study Starts from September 2026 (autumn semester)
The international travel costs shall be borne by the scholarship recipients.
2. Applying for CGS general scholar or senior scholar programs:
Application Closing Date: 9 October, 2026
Study Starts from February 2027 (spring semester)
The international travel costs shall be borne by the scholarship recipients.
3. Applying for China - New Zealand Doctoral Research Scholarships
Application Closing Date: 13 February, 2026
Study Starts from September 2026 (autumn semester)
The scholarship includes international airfare for the first trip to China and returning trip after completion of study.
CSCA Score Report is required. Applicants seeking to pursue a bachelor's degree must register for and take the CSCA before the application deadline, and obtain a valid Score Report. Please contact the target institution to inquire about and obtain the required test subjects for the applied major. Applicants intending to enroll in September 2026 are required to register for and take the CSCA on December 21, 2025, or January 25, 2026. For more information, please refer to www.csca.cn.
